Mumbles Coffee, Swansea

Mumbles Coffee cafe

Mumbles Coffee in Swansea is no doubt, one of the most popular spots in the village. There’s the main cafe on the corner, the booth in the arcade and its little brother Microlot, on Dunns Lane – all super busy.

They take their coffee very seriously – partnering up with local businesses and sourcing ‘the finest coffee beans from around the world’, their baristas are knowledgeable and very passionate about coffee (I once got into a fifteen minute conversation without about how much you should grind your beans).

Mumbles Coffee cafe

Very cosy, cool and of course, dog-friendly – the newish Mumbles coffee cafe (it used to be based in the Arcade which has been replaced with a new coffee place).

The address is 34-36 Newton Road, which is pretty much in the middle of the busiest street in Mumbles Village. There’s a loyalty card that you should pick up, where you can get your tenth coffee free. I’m 90% sure there isn’t another coffee place with a loyalty scheme in Mumbles, so if you like bang for your buck, it makes sense to get your coffee there.

The cafe is on two floors – though the top floor is more of a balcony, with tables set up to relax, eat and work. It’s great for home workers who need to get out of the house – because not all local businesses are that friendly to those sitting in their premises for a couple of hours.

Mumbles Coffee menu

The food in Mumbles Coffee is delicious and very Instagramable if you care about that kind of thing. I keep hearing a lot about how incredible their granola is, which is handmade on-site. It’s worth following their Instagram to see if they have any specials on etc when you’re planning to visit.

They have the usual savoury and sweet pastries and cakes (their vegan almond croissant is exceptional), but there’s also a broader menu if you want something more substantial, such as baked eggs, avocado on toast, filled croissants, ACIA bowls, Frittata etc – there’s loads to choose from.

Mumbles Coffee Reviews

It’s pretty clear I’m a fan – but what do others think of Mumbles Coffee?

To begin, the staff were lovely upon arriving and were accommodating to any requests available (oat milk available), so definitely 5 star service for me! Everyone is lovely and makes sure your experience is as superb as possible.

The Mumbles Coffee really holds up its name for one of (if not the) best coffee shop in Swansea, with the coffees being an excellent rich flavour that priorities coffee over milk (however I’m sure you could ask for more milk if wanted!) and not to mention the hot chocolate – it has to be one of the best I’ve ever had second to only a couple.

To finish off, the soup of the day was delicious (Sweet potato and Chilli) and was definitely above my standard. Two coffees and the soup came to around £11, so the price is definitely affordable also!

Thank you for your lovely service, the food and beverages were excellent and I can’t wait until I’m down mumbles way to sit in for awhile again!

We came here 2 yrs ago and returned today to see a wonderful, quirky place. The industrial theme gives it a modern relaxed atmosphere. The original floor ads character. We were really impressed. Cakes were scrumptious, great service, happy staff.
We won’t wait 2 years to return xx

Best Flat White I’ve in the UK to date (on holiday from NZ).
Stopped in here for lunch after completing some of the coastal track. Super friendly and great service.

Flat white was perfect for me. In a ceramic cup, not too big, not too small. Not too hot or bitter and well blended with some nice art.

Food was also very good if on the small side – peanut butter on Sourdough with fruit, much better than it sounds!
