Gin and Juice, Mumbles

Gin and Juice interior

When friends from outside of Swansea come to visit, Gin and Juice in the Mumbles is where I take them. Firstly, the restaurant is beautiful – It’s a real show stopper with a log burner, plants (a LOT of plants) and an indoor/outdoor conservatory – which means you can look out at stunning Swansea Bay while sippng on a cocktail.

Gin and Juice have the best views – maybe only matched by The Lighthouse in Mumbles or The Beach House in Oxwich. I like to sit in the conservatory because of this, but it gets busy quickly. It’s lush in the sunshine, but I also really like it when it’s tipping it down, as with the big windows, it feels like you’re outside, but you’re staying warm and dry.

Gin and Juice Mumbles Menu

I’ve only ever been for brunch and lunch and think the food is delicious. I typically always order the ham hock eggs benedict, with a spicy hollandaise – which is exceptional. They now also serve food in the evenings in the restaurant area, ‘The Grill’.

They have a fixed-price lunch which is a bit of a bargain – where all food on that bit of the menu is £11.99. This includes, at the time of writing:

  • A Chicken Club burger
  • Halloumi burger
  • Beef burger
  • Steak and frites (which is – chef’s kiss- perfect).

Here’s a link to the full menu.

Gin and Juice, Mumbles also have a more formal dining room called ‘The Grill’, which I’m yet to try. They have a ‘rooftop roast’, but as well as that, a fish of the day, and steaks. Here’s the full menu for that.

Gin and Juice cocktails

The cocktails at Gin and Juice are something special. I don’t think it’s currently on the menu, but the one I liked was strawberry gin-based, with candy loss on top which was the size of my head, filled with real flowers and lollipops. It’s ridiculous, but sweet, sticky and delicious. Hopefully, they’ll bring it back for the summer.

Current examples of cocktails you can get include:

  • Goblet of Fire – which has Double Or Nothing Dry Gin, Creme de Mure, Lemon, Pineapple, Passion Fruit, and Sugar
  • Citrus Clouds – Double Or nothing Dry Gin, yuzu Sake, Angostura Bitters, Coconut Milk, Pineapple
  • Pink Ribbon – Havana Especial Rum, Raspberry, pineapple, Li,e
  • Let’s get it on – Pink Ribbon Pink Gin, Lemonade, Raspberry, Strawberry Lime.

The lounge also has free live music every Thursday where the band starts at seven until late.

Gin and Juice, Swansea Reviews

So you know what I think of Gin and juice, Mumbles – but here’s what others think.

We had Sunday lunch at the Gin and Juice ‘The Grill’ restaurant. The food was lovely and the portions were generous. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We were given complementary cockles. All the tables had a spectacular view across Swansea Bay.

Beautiful setting with an amazing view of the ocean! My favorite spot in Mumbles to view the sunset sky. The menu for food is small, but the food is excellent. However, gin and other beverages are excellent and offer an endless array of choices.

Awesome rooftop bar with tasty food.
Got this place recommended by the staff in the hotel we were staying at.
The entrance is little bit hidden between the buildings so don’t give up if you don’t fin it straight away.
We had lunch and tried a couple of burgers, which were both a good portion and very tasty. The ambience of the place was very nice with great music and great views of the bay.
Huge selection of gins which are very well presented by friendly bar staff.
