Rag and Bone Cafe, Swansea

Rag and bone cafe

When it comes to good food and coffee in West Cross, there’s slim pickings – so thank God for Rag and Bone cafe which is located at the ‘top shops’ in West Cross Swansea (136 W Cross Ln, West Cross, Swansea SA3 5NG) – which is one of my favourite places to eat in the city and where I spend all my wages on iced-coffee.

Always bustling, Rag and Bone cafe is a particularly good breakfast place, though I often get the same thing every time I go in – the Chicken Club sandwich, which is made with Little Valley Bakery bread (which is THE best bread I’ve ever had – and I know you’re thinking, how exciting can bread be? Trust me on this, it’s better than anything else you’ve ever had…)

You can eat in, or sit outside if it’s sunny or you have dogs etc. The area outside the top shops has recently been renovated with trees and planters – so it’s a nicer place to sit outside.

West Cross isn’t too far from Mumbles – maybe a five minute drive or a twenty-five minute walk, so if you’re visiting to go shopping or the beach front, Rag and Bone is a quieter alternative to places in Mumbles which can get super busy during summer holidays etc. Honestly, during school holidays on a sunny day, you’re not getting into places like Boos or Mumbles Coffee without queuing outside for an hour.

Rag and Bone Cafe Menu

Rag and Bone has a menu that’s always the same and a specials board too. Everything is fresh and delicious, with local, high quality ingredients. Breakfast and brunch is really popular with things like crumpet stacks, bagels and a fully loaded roll – and then there’s the ‘every thing else’ on the Rag and Bone meny which is more appropriate for lunch.

Like I said above, I order the Cub sandwich every time – though I am often tempted by the changing specials.

Rag and Bone Cafe, Swansea reviews

So you know what I think of the Rag and Bone Cafe, but what do others think?

Not normally one for these new age fancy cafes and certainly not avacado…. Well until I came here!! Wow amazing little place food and service top notch. I had the fully loaded roll and it was beautiful some of the best bacon I have ever eaten. Highly recommend it.

Fabulous brunch of avocado on crumpets with crispy bacon and a poached egg. Really good and great coffee too! Discovered it by accident but so pleased we found it. Quirky vibe too. Highly recommend 😋

Very nice food, beautifully presented and cooked. Coffee very nice too. Off our usual beaten track, but well worth a visit. Not phased by children either – a warm welcome for the whole family.
We enjoyed our brunch…
