When driving into Swansea from the M4, you won’t be able miss the Towers Hotel, with its iconic, red brick Victorian Tower poking out from behind the trees. I must have passed the Towers Hotel and Spa a million times growing up in Swansea and had yet never driven off the main road to take a look – never mind try it out myself.
However, I was luckily given a Towers Hotel Spa day as a Christmas present by my mother, so got to experience the Tower’s spa, and I tell you what, I’m going to be going back… a lot.
Disclaimer: This is a completely honest review of my experience having a spa day at the Towers Hotel, which was not paid for or gifted.
Towers hotel spa
The Towers Hotel spa is set a bit further away from the main hotel and tower. You park up by the hotel and then walk over to the spa itself. While walking over, I did think that it might be impossible for those with a disability to get there, as there were steps up and down to get to the enterance, but I’m sure, legally they have to accommodate customers with wheelchairs etc. I also saw a review from someone with sight issues that said the staff were amazingly helpful, so I do have faith they have it covered.
What stood out to me, was just how brilliant the staff are. We messed them around quite a bit with finalising a date, because I got pregnant, and so wanted to wait a good few months after giving birth to go to the spa day as there’s so much you can’t do while carrying a baby. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, even extending the gift voucher for me so I could be fully safe and comfortable to enjoy the experience.
When you get there, you’re given a robe and slippers (one size, but the robe is pretty accommodating if that’s a worry for you). You then get shown the gym (who goes to the gym on a spa day?), the pool area and the sun deck. There’s a sauna and steam room, one hot tub (which has some really strong bubbles) and a gorgeous pool.
I liked how when you arrive, they lead you to your bed in the lush conservatory – which has a reservation sign on them, with your name, treatments booked and times. It was super organised and relaxing – we felt like we were in safe hands.
I had a facial and a full body massage and they were both incredible. We got chatting with some other people there who had been to a lot of spas, and even though others they have been to are fancier, the massages are supposed to be some of the best at the Towers spa. Honestly, I’m going to go back a lot. It was my first ever spa day, and I can’t believe I’ve missed out all these years.
However, if I could criticise a bit, the vibe shifted from 3 pm for us. We went on a Saturday, so it might be different on other days of the week, but it became clear that a load of people entered the pool area at that time as it was part of a package deal, with a hotel stay and a tribute night. It really wasn’t the end of the world, but it got a bit more boisterous with groups of people who were up for a good night out, rather than the zen headspace I was in before then.
Towers Hotel and Spa packages
We had I think, the ‘best’ package you can get, which included use of the pool area and saunas etc, one thirty-minute treatment and one hour treatment. You also get lunch. You get the choice of chicken, salmon or tofu – but it’s the same ‘meal’ – teriyaki salad, with other tapas style dishes, with a choice of wine or soft drink.
We were impressed – really enjoyed it. I want to properly try out the Towers Hotel’s main restaurant because if it’s anything like this ‘low key’ offering, I bet it’s great. I’ll of course update here when I do get a chance to try it out.
There’s an offers page on the Tower’s Hotel and Spa main website, but for me, the best place to get a spa package is the Facebook page. There’s always a decent deal on there, which will be a mix of the spa, restaurant, hotel and maybe tribute night – and more options than you’ll find on the website.
As an example, at the time of writing for £89, you get use of the spa facilities from 3 pm – 7 pm, 1 x 30-minute treatment and a three-course meal in the restaurant which I think is pretty amazing value.
Towers Hotel Spa Swansea reviews
You know what I think about the Towers Hotel Spa, but how do the people of Swansea review it? Well, it’s got nearly 2000 Google reviews with a score of 4.3 out of 5.

The Towers Hotel Swansea
Full disclosure, I’ve not stayed at the Towers Hotel, Swansea and probably won’t until I’m off maternity leave and earning some money again. So I can’t give you my honest opinion, but can give you some information about the hotel itself.
If you’re not from Swansea and thinking of staying at the hotel, I think the location is decent. You’re not in the centre of town (which in my opinion isn’t where you want to be when coming to visit), and you’re not in the Mumbles/Gower – which is stunning, but about a twentyish minute drive, but you’re right by a lovely golf course and have quick access to everywhere you want to go.
There’s the old tower of red brick, which the hotel takes its name, and then the hotel itself off to the side. Every single time I’ve been to the venue to sort out spa stuff or to have a nose, there has been a wedding. It’s clearly a very popular venue.
Parking-wise, it’s free and there’s lots of it. I’d imagine it’s really safe too as again, the hotel is pretty out of the way, but accessible.
Look, it would be unfair for me to judge the place without actually looking around and staying there, but from the pictures online posted by customers, it looks clean and decent. Nothing super luxurious or swanky, in my opinion (but I’ll admit I’m a bit of a hotel snob with very high standards). But who knows, I may think differently when I properly experience the hotel – so take my thoughts with a pinch of salt.
When it comes to price, I picked a date a few weeks away to do some compairisons, and the Tower Hotel costs £150 for a night on a Monday for two people. You get breakfast included in that price. That said, from Booking.com anyway, Morgan’s Hotel, which is pretty iconic and is a four-star is only £108 a night and the Village Hotel which is just down the road is £90. Like I said above though, the best value for money is to book one of the Tower’s hotel and spa packages for a really good deal.
Swansea weirdly doesn’t have a lot of independent hotels. I can think of a handful. There are of course your big ‘cheap’ chains, and a lot of B&Bs – so if it is a hotel you want to stay at – and it’s always nice to support smaller, local businesses, really consider The Towers Hotel and Spa, rather than something generic like, Travelodge.
Tribute Nights
The Towers Hotel Swansea seems to love a tribute night, as they’re always putting them on – typically wrapped up in a bigger deal, which may include the spa, the restaurant or a hotel stay.
If they’re your thing, they seem like a lot of fun, and the reviews tend to say that the acts are high quality. Examples of tribute acts include Bruno Mars, Tom Jones (of course – this is Wales), Harry Styles, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse… honestly, the list goes on. They also host themed nights, such as ‘Mowton Night’, ‘Boyband Night’ and 90’s Night’.
At the time of writing, as a standard, a tribute night will cost you £36.50 and comes with a two-course meal, cabaret entertainment and a disco. If you want to add a hotel stay onto that – so you can have a drink or five – prices start from £96.50 – which considering a hotel stay on booking.com without all the food and entertainment is more than that, this is a bargain – and also doesn’t make much sense to me!
Towers Hotel Spa Swansea Wedding
The Towers Hotel Spa is a big Swansea Wedding venue. Like I’ve said above, I’ve been on the grounds about four times now, and there has always been a wedding happening. I get the feeling it’s pretty non-stop.
From what I can see from their Facebook page, they hold quite a lot of wedding fayres, so you can see the venue and what they offer. All the information you need is on their wedding page site.
Have you been to the spa at the Towers Hotel? Stayed the night in the hotel? Agree with me, disagree? Tell me what you think in the comment section below.
